Skin is made up of 3 layers: The Epidermis, the Dermis & the lower level Hypodermis (which stores our fat deposits) (subcutaneous). The skin is made up of several tissues which have basic function of protecting muscles and bodily organs. The skin tissues contain natural Vitamins D & B and serve to insulate and regulate temperatures within the body.
The Epidermis is the top layer of skin. It carries blood vessels, melanin, retains water and works to keep harmful chemicals out of the body.
